Welcome to the new and improved Wenatchee River Salmon Festival website! 2020 sounds like “the future,” so we finally took the plunge and spent much of this crazy year building out this new website to better convey the scope, popularity, and critical role that this festival plays in the lives of so many from all walks of life around Washington State.
Salmon Fest has two main components; School Days and a Community Day. School Days are provided just for students and are heavily focused on science and natural resources education, following up on topics learned throughout the school year and driving important principles home through hands-on experiences. The Community Day, while still focused on natural resources education, also adds outdoor recreation opportunities, craft and food vendors, presentations and performances, and more, and everyone is invited.
The new website better conveys this separation and provides valuable resources and info that is easy for festival attendees, teachers, partners, and supporters to find. Know what to expect, get the most out of your experience, and plan your trip to the next Salmon Fest!
In addition, we’ve created “Salmon On-Line,” a virtual supplement to the “reel” deal. There, you’ll find a special collection of online educational resources and activities that are perfect for students to learn about salmon and their habitats. As the world becomes more virtual, Salmon On-Line will help teachers and parents convey important lessons in fun and exciting new ways.
Thanks for visiting!
